About The Position

This position is part of the Russellville Foam Plant Operations Team and plays a role in improving overall reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment. This opportunity is critical to the performance and continued growth of the Russellville Foam Plant. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine planned and breakdown maintenance activities on shift, maintaining the plant equipment at optimum efficiency. Successful candidates must demonstrate both the ability to work in self-directed teams, with little to no supervision, as well as demonstrate the ability to drive results in a team environment. Successful candidates will be required to use their troubleshooting skills and experience to resolve technical and mechanical problems that may occur. The successful candidate would also be responsible for development and training of Maintenance Apprentices and work with operations to improve machine efficiencies. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 5+ year’s experience in an industrial maintenance position

Nice To Haves

  • Schooling and certifications in maintenance /electronics related field
  • Willingness-to-learn-more attitude through developed work habits, machine instruction booklets, self-taught skills courses, and outside educational programs
  • Industrial mechanical experience and knowledge (bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, chain drives, etc.)
  • Above average troubleshooting of mechanical equipment in an industrial environment
  • Understanding, experience, and troubleshooting capabilities with industrial electrical
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude in an industrial environment
  • Ability to travel as needed. Travel will be heavier during start up as visit other OC plants to learn the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the process, process equipment, controls, and spare parts.
  • Develop troubleshooting skills and techniques for the equipment and controls.
  • Perform routine and nonroutine industrial maintenance tasks.
  • Utilize our computer maintenance management system (SAP) to maintain and enter documentation from all work orders.
  • Learn and comply with all Owens Corning safety policies along with all other plant rules.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area that follows 5S standards.
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Work up to 12 hours in hot/cold manufacturing environment.
  • Walk/stand on concrete floor continuously for up to 12 hours.
  • Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - steel-toed shoes, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) hearing protection and long-sleeved shirt (with shirt tail tucked in) as necessary for task.
  • Maintain high level of attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned or needed.
