A Maintenance Technician performs complicated tasks on the maintenance of plant machinery and facilities. Duties may include welding, carpentry, electric, pipe fitting, and plumbing repairs as necessary. Working from plans, sketches, or design. Constructs equipment for plant use. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree with a technical focus or 2 years of related experience in industrial maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Installs power supply, wiring, and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment; connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery, buzzer, and oscilloscope.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, and conducts repairs.
  • Tests and/or observes malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with operator and/or manufacturers to diagnose issues. Perform repairs as necessary.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Operates as necessary, robot controller, teach pendant, and/or programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots to operate automated machinery to test for malfunctions and to verify repairs.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned
