We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician to support medical office building(s) in the Detroit and surrounding areas by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and emergency response—ensuring patients, providers, and staff experience a safe, comfortable environment every day. Requirements

  • Experience in Facilities Maintenance, Building Maintenance, or Property Maintenance - at least 1 year
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair building systems efficiently
  • Experience in medical office buildings, healthcare facilities, or commercial properties (preferred)
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple work orders
  • Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills and customer-service approach

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC or EPA certification
  • Electrical or plumbing experience
  • CMMS or work-order system experience

Responsibilities

  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Perform routine and preventive maintenance on: HVAC systems Electrical systems Plumbing systems Lighting and building infrastructure Respond to comfort calls and make system adjustments Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues Perform weekly and monthly generator load transfers Perform fire system impairments for testing and construction purposes
  • Hands-On Building Repairs Repair or replace: Ceiling tiles and grid systems Door hardware and restroom fixtures Walls, floors, windows, ceilings, and finishes Perform minor electrical repairs (ballasts, switches, receptacles) Perform minor plumbing repairs (toilets, urinals, water heaters, faucets) Maintain office and restroom functionality, including vent cleaning
  • Safety, Compliance & Inspections Conduct routine safety and facility inspections Support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Participate in emergency response procedures Maintain clean, organized mechanical rooms, shops, and storage areas
  • Operations & Coordination Order maintenance materials and supplies and pick up items as needed Maintain detailed maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers Assist with renovations, furniture moves, and facility reconfigurations Participate in audits, assessments, and on-call rotation as required
