About The Position

We are currently looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to work within our Independent Living Community at The Wesleyan. A minimum of 1 year residential maintenance experience in a senior living community, a working knowledge of general residential building maintenance, a heart for serving residents in a senior living community, and a passion for ensuring a safe and well-functioning building operation will be essential to your success as a Lead Maintenance Technician at The Wesleyan. The schedule for this position is 8:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday and rotating on-call weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of one years' maintenance technician experience within a senior living, assisted living, or skilled nursing environment is preferred.
  • Proven work experience in general residential building maintenance including carpentry work, painting, general repairs, and equipment maintenance.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of general residential building maintenance such as boiler, heating and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry.
  • Excellent customer service is required along with the ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • A valid Driver's License and current liability insurance are required.
  • A service-minded approach to all aspects of the job is required.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to open maintenance work tickets as assigned and complete tasks efficiently and effectively while providing outstanding customer service.
  • Perform general residential maintenance tasks as assigned including carpenter work, painting, general cleaning, and general repair work as needed.
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance of all equipment as directed. maintenance checks, assign duties and work to helpers.
  • Assist with the preparation of apartments for new occupancy.
  • Assist with the preparation and room set-up for special events in the community.
  • Responsible for maintaining the building ensuring it's in good repair and kept free of hazards.
  • Complete other job duties as assigned by the Lead Maintenance Technician, Director of Plant Operations, and/or the building Administrator.
