About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Pie Squad and dive into the thrilling universe of food-making while making sure our machines are working properly to crank out our delicious treats! The ideal candidate will plan and execute complex equipment maintenance. We are seeking a candidate who has worked in a heavy industrial setting and has familiarity with a wide variety of instrumentations. The ideal candidate will install, start-up, test, inspect, repair, program, tune, maintain and calibrate equipment related to food manufacturing operations in a heavy industrial environment including analog and digital field devices such as pressure, level, temperature, pH instruments, hydraulic and pneumatic operations, motor controls, PLC, valves, actuators, robotics, communication and other related equipment. Tasks also include working with other Maintenance and Operations personnel to troubleshoot and repair process related challenges. Cyrus O’Leary’s Bakery is a non-union pie facility, a division of Sara Lee Frozen Bakery. This site has 6 production lines across 4 departments that include single serve pies, fruit pies, cream pies, and packaging.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • 2-Year degree in Electrical or Instrument Technology or equivalent technical experience or apprenticeship
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying temperatures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members effectively.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong math skills are essential.
  • The ability to safely perform essential functions of this job including work in industrial/manufacturing environment (climbing ladders, walking distances, working at heights on platforms, working in tight or close spaces, etc.)
  • Strong diagnostic skills and willingness to learn new equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and interpret technical manuals.
  • Experienced in using industrial hand tools, power tools and common test equipment, good manual dexterity.
  • Understand, analyze and troubleshoot PLC control logic; troubleshoot and repair AC and DC drive systems; familiarity with Allen Bradley, GE and ABB preferred.
  • Understand common types of electronic sensors for position, flow and pressure.

  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
