About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with Hydraulics; ability to troubleshoot, repair, and PM Hydraulic equipment.
  • ​Electrical knowledge; ability to troubleshoot and perform some electrical repairs on equipment.
  • Capable of gathering and interpreting data
  • Capability to work independently in a fast paced- environment
  • Ability to identify problems and provide solutions to ensure efficiency and quality of production
  • Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly; situational awareness
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
  • Follow instructions for operating equipment and record keeping
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pound

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines
  • Perform routine maintenance on buildings, including lights, locks, windows, doors, screens, walls, floors, etc.
  • Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing part and reinstall as needed; oil and lubricate moving parts on machine to ensure effective performance
  • Record and report damaged, worn, broken parts to DRI management teams; record parts or materials used and order/requisition new parts or materials as necessary
  • Perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance of production equipment and machinery
  • Maintain maintenance shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines
  • Work in conjunction with management teams for continuous improvement; provide support and assist with project work
  • Identify risks; suggest process improvement opportunities
  • Effectively troubleshoot equipment problems in a timely manner with minimal supervision; use of general knowledge in mechanics (gears, bearings, pulleys, belts, etc.), pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Use precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.
  • Safely operate shop tools such as cutoff saws, drill press, bench grinder, hydraulic press, vertical band saw, arc welders, acetylene torch and various other hand tools
  • Ensures an optimal and reliable parts stock
  • Meets established KPI targets
  • Other duties as assigned
