About The Position

Maintenance Technician are responsible for proactively performing routine maintenance inspections and performing general maintenance of equipment, facility and grounds. Responsible for transporting products and handling deliveries in a timely manner. They must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring the vehicle has enough gas and is in safe working condition.

Requirements

  • Required DOT Physical, Medical Exam and Chauffeur license.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Microsoft Office: Spreadsheet, Word, Calendar, and Internet browser
  • 5 years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record for automobile insurance coverage.
  • Ability to drive safely without distractions and troubleshoot routing and traffic.
  • Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate channels.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
  • Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
  • Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties which may include snow removal.
  • Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles.
  • Use the company vehicle to perform on-time deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather conditions.
  • Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
  • Professionally represent Shurco in interactions with clients, vendors and the general public.
  • Ensure the vehicle is fueled, clean and in good working order; reporting any maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
