About The Position

Maintenance Technician (Nights Shift – 7pm to 7am) Work just 15 days a Month with a Rotating Schedule!!! (Bi-weekly Schedule: work Monday & Tuesday, off Wednesday & Thursday, work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, off Monday & Tuesday, work Wednesday & Thursday, off Friday Saturday & Sunday then the schedule starts over) Essential Job Responsibilities: Spends 95% of time troubleshooting and repairing production equipment. Understands and can describe the current status of all production machines on the floor. Works closely with shift supervisor to maintain machines in safe, efficient and quality process. Spends first 15 minutes of shift in turn over meeting with previous shift Maintenance Technicians. Before departing, shift Maintenance Technician will enter appropriate information in the maintenance Log and or other operating systems. Experience replacing heater bands, heat relays and troubleshooting heat zones. Working knowledge of servicing hydraulics and replacing hydraulic pumps. Experience with troubleshooting pneumatic systems. Basic electrical troubleshooting of machinery. Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements. Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance. Respond to any emergency or potential emergency. Security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees and proper maintenance/security of Berry equipment and information. Constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices. Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers. Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems. Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.

Requirements

  • Two to five years working as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable working in various maintenance software systems
  • Working knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out Requirements
  • Understanding of Safe Rigging Practices
  • Prior certification on a Forklift
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with manufacturing and conveying equipment highly preferred
  • Knowledge working on Stretch Blow Molding and or Injection Blow Molding machines is preferred but not required
  • Experience with resin and blending systems strongly preferred but not required
