About The Position

The Westover Companies is a family-owned and operated property management company. We are located in King of Prussia area and have operated for over fifty years with the purpose of providing quality living, shopping and working space for residents and customers. The Maintenance Technician supports one or multiple apartment properties maintaining routine service requests as well as preventative maintenance. He/she will be responsible for completing this work safely and timely to provide our residents with superior customer service. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our apartment community in Claymont, DE. $1000 SIGN ON BONUS

Requirements

Ability to use of standard hand and power tools safely
Ability to lift and move of heavy items (water heaters, appliances, rock salt, shovel snow etc.)
Knowledge to perform routine, preventative maintenance
Knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills
Ability to work on step/extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols
Responsibility to complete work orders in a timely manner and maintain inventory and a clean and stocked shop
Ability to identify safety and hazardous conditions and communicate any issues
Follow company operational and safety procedures
Ability to work an on-call schedule as required
A positive, team-oriented attitude and understand and follow Westover Companies core values
Reliable work ethic and dependable transportation; must maintain valid driver’s license and working vehicle

Responsibilities

Exhibiting strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer
Communicating and working well with both leasing and maintenance staff members
Always representing the company in a professional and courteous manner
Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, turnovers, preventative maintenance to units and common areas as well as any other duties assigned
Sharing on-call responsibility
Diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical and plumbing related issues
Providing own (basic) hand tools
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Attending in-house training as required
Maintaining current preventative maintenance property logs
