About The Position

Hyperion Residential Group is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our property operations team. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the physical integrity, functionality, and safety of our multifamily or student housing community. This role is responsible for completing service requests, conducting routine maintenance, and assisting with preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure resident satisfaction and the propertys upkeep.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of general maintenance experience, preferably in multifamily or student housing.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
  • EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in a variety of environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification is a plus (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to resident service requests and complete work orders efficiently and professionally.
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, and other building systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of the propertys preventative maintenance plan to reduce emergency repairs and prolong the life of equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement.
  • Help maintain the propertys curb appeal by assisting with groundskeeping, cleaning common areas, and removing trash and debris.
  • Prepare units for new residents, including turnover maintenance, painting, and repairs.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure inventory of tools, parts, and supplies is properly stocked.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies at all times.
  • Assist in monitoring vendor performance and report issues to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
