Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment and fixtures. Conducts general maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment. Maintains repair and maintenance records. Troubleshoots problems and escalates the most complex issues to senior coworkers. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision. Position Summary: The individual in this role is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, which includes both the interior and exterior of the building, as well as warehouse equipment. Essential tasks include performing basic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, conducting safety audits, and performing mechanical repairs. Required skills include painting, basic carpentry, maintenance, repair, and general building upkeep. This role also involves additional duties when assigned. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of evaluating, troubleshooting, and resolving issues effectively. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team, effectively carrying out tasks without constant supervision.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools, the ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, and a working knowledge of electrical systems, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and basic welding are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, good time management skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • Normal hours are Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Individual must be willing to work overtime as scheduled and required.
  • Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Possess basic skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Fabricate or modify equipment to create new products or enhance the production process.
  • Demonstrate general handyman skills, including painting, carpentry, and building maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, with an understanding of written and verbal instructions and the capability to document completed work.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional behavior.
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork related to equipment, preventative maintenance, OSHA-required documents, and other critical records.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with company personnel and external vendors.
  • Ensure that the interior grounds are free of debris and kept in clean condition. This includes operating a floor scrubber, emptying and cleaning trash cans both inside and outside the facility, hosing down the outdoor smoking area monthly, and ensuring walkways are clear of debris, including snow removal.
  • Seasonally maintain the property by trimming bushes, removing weeds, and performing other tasks related to the facility’s exterior appearance.
  • Must be flexible with work hours to minimize equipment downtime, which may require arriving early, staying late, or working mandatory overtime.
  • Assist other departments as assigned or needed.
  • Have basic working knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Make decisions and solve problems related to machine repairs and prioritize work effectively.
  • Pass and maintain a valid company-issued lift truck verification.
  • Show a willingness to pursue further education in maintenance and safety-related programs, seminars, and training sessions.
  • Undertake all other duties and projects as assigned.
