Our team members are responding to the vital infrastructure needs of our economy through the manufacturing and distribution of railway ties, utility poles, residential lumber and industrial wood products across the continent. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our 2nd shift team. The Maintenance team member is responsible for performing duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a productive, efficient and safe manner. Schedule: Monday - Friday (3:00pm - 11:00pm)

Requirements

  • Education: One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred
  • Experience: Two years related work experience
  • Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, welding
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings
  • Strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Basic mechanical knowledge in wood industry preferred
  • Experience in fabrication and welding of various metals (including pipe welding)

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, services, repairs on limited types of machinery throughout the plant.
  • Repairs or performs maintenance on all mobile equipment including fueling, oil changes, and minor repair work.
  • Performs the Preventative Maintenance Program established by the Company
  • Documents and reports maintenance work performed and advises of future requirements in a timely manner.
  • Participates and contributes to company safety program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned including site cleanup.
