About The Position

We’re looking for a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to help keep our YOS properties clean, safe, and functioning smoothly. You’ll work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to handle day-to-day maintenance tasks, repairs, and safety checks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Illinois driver's license
  • Some experience in maintenance or general labor preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, including in wet or humid conditions
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and general maintenance tools
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Comfortable working around diverse teams and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic manual labor, including:
  • Trash removal
  • Restocking, cleaning, and bathroom supplies
  • Light landscaping
  • Basic furniture repairs
  • Complete monthly safety inspections at our outpost offices
  • Deliver internal mail twice a week to various locations
  • Support emergency maintenance requests when needed (on-call support)
  • Work safely and monitor any contractor work on our properties
  • Assist with special projects and other maintenance duties as assigned
