Maintenance Technician

About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and services of NWM buildings related to painting, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, environmental, and safety.

Requirements

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Familiar with fire, life, safety programs.
Working knowledge of building codes.
Ability to read basic blueprints.
Knowledge of building infrastructure - mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP).
Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
High school diploma or equivalent
Microsoft Office preferred (Word, Excel, Outlook)
3+ years’ experience in all phases of grounds and maintenance services.
Experience with Cal-OSHA, NFPA, and Hazardous waste handling preferred.
Must be able to safely lift and/or handle items weighing up to 60 pounds on occasion. This may be performed with reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work safely and comfortably at heights of up to 50 feet on occasion. This may or may not include climbing (ascending/descending) a ladder and twisting the body safely to handle maintenance requests and repairs.
Must be able to use tools by hand safely to complete maintenance requests.
Must be able to detect maintenance issues and visually read blueprints, documentation, and other written material.
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions on occasion.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to complete maintenance requests as needed.
View and type on computer screens for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Keep the buildings in a clean and orderly condition by examining the buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
Perform general building and fixture repairs.
Resolve general facilities and maintenance requests.
Follow facilities department policy, procedure, and standards.
Assist with space planning and office moves.
Responsible for basic equipment and furniture assembly.
