About The Position

Purpose/Scope: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving plant equipment and facilities to support safe, efficient precast concrete manufacturing operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports production through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement activities. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment including mixers, conveyors, cranes, batching systems, molds, hydraulic systems, and related machinery. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete timely repairs. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, tools, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. Support plant production by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation. Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of equipment and plant infrastructure. Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental compliance requirements. Collaborate with production, quality, and leadership teams to improve equipment performance and reliability. Maintain housekeeping standards in maintenance areas and across the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification preferred.
  • 2+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Welding, fabrication, and industrial troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment including outdoor exposure, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights when required.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor and auger systems, power tools, overhead cranes, welding and fabrication, SMAW, GMAW, plasma torch, oxy/acetylene cutting, and wheeled vehicle repair and operation (including yard tractors, forklifts, aerial lifts, skid steers, and wheel loaders)
  • Basic understanding of lockout/tagout (LO/TO) procedures
  • Basic understanding of Hot work permit procedures
  • Basic understanding of Confined space procedures
  • Able to operate heavy equipment; i.e., forklifts, bobcats, aerial lifts, cranes and yard tractors (trucks)
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor electrical issues and repair
  • Ability to understand and follow direction
  • Ability to read and understand parts diagrams in order to assemble/disassemble miscellaneous equipment
  • Ability to work independently

  • Computer skills. Experience using CMMS/IFS

Nice To Haves

  • Two-five (2-5) years’ experience as a maintenance technician in a heavy industrial environment
  • Two (2) year technical school degree
