About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is expected to perform constant evaluation of machinery & equipment, preventative maintenance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of production equipment and facilities to keep everything running in production. Located in Brooklyn, Ohio, MPC Plating was founded as a metal plating operation. Branching out into plastic plating in 1985, MPC now plates exclusively on plastics. MPC has remained a one-stop job shop plater, investing in work-class equipment and developing a team capable of producing products that meet the demanding specifications that our customers require in the Automotive, Appliance, Heavy Truck, and Medical Industries. The Maintenance Technician is expected to perform constant evaluation of machinery & equipment, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of production equipment and facilities to keep everything running in production.

Requirements

  • Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building's electricity
  • Plumbing experience, especially using CPVC and PVC
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building
  • Must have flexibility with work hours
  • Must be able to work overtime and to work overtime at short notice
  • Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and manage time efficiently, strong organizational skills
  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Must have the ability to lead, motivate, and develop personnel, particularly with project and cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in multiple technical disciplines, analytics, and assurance techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plumbing, pipefitting, welding & fabrication, and electrical is a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC controls a plus

Responsibilities

  • Preventive maintenance and maintenance of production equipment and facilities
  • Supports the PM system to accommodate 100% on-time compliance
  • Completing assigned procedures on chemical tanks, pipes, air compressors, and other electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repairs all plant equipment with either controls or mechanical issues
  • Attend all required meetings and training when scheduled
  • Must interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting
  • Helps maintain the maintenance area by keeping it stocked with proper supplies for daily operations
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Must be knowledgeable in required personal protective equipment, must be comfortable with heights, and must be comfortable working around chemicals
  • Other duties as assigned
