SUMMARY The 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs during scheduled sanitation downtime to ensure all production and utility systems are safe, reliable, and fully operational prior to 1st shift startup. This role is critical to minimizing unplanned downtime, preventing startup delays, and protecting asset reliability within a high moisture, washdown food manufacturing environment. The technician works closely with sanitation and operations teams to coordinate activities and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) tasks in accordance with CMMS (MaintainX) work orders. Inspect equipment for wear, corrosion, and washdown-related damage in a high-moisture environment. Follow OEM procedures and specifications for mechanical and electrical systems. Accurately document work performed, labor hours, and parts utilized within the CMMS. Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems. Replace wear components, including bearings, belts, chains, seals, motors, sensors, and valves. Complete corrective repairs identified during sanitation activities or PM inspections. Prepare and verify equipment startup readiness to support 1st shift operations. Perform proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with plant safety requirements. Inspect equipment post-cleaning to ensure proper reassembly, functionality, and safe operation. Maintain compliance with food safety standards, GMP requirements, and all plant safety policies. Perform additional duties as assigned that are reasonably within the scope of this role.
