About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for efficiently and safely supporting the maintenance requirements of the Bowerston, Ohio facility. This position will be varied and includes knowledge of mechanical and electronic equipment, troubleshooting and problem solving.

Requirements

Must be 18 Years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent which may include vocational training.
Ability to functionally use a personal computer to perform detailed inquiries, update information, source information, source items and print reports as needed.
Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees and management, both verbally and in written form.
Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve.
Demonstratable ability to read engineering style drawings, diagrams, and sketches.
Basic welding skills.
Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of experience working in a maintenance function in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with woodworking equipment.
Experienced in the use of basic tools required to perform maintenance tasks.
Operation of forklifts, man lifts and other powered industrial equipment.
Familiarity with Project Management programs and ability to facilitate and follow the program.
Working knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL).
Ability to obtain and keep a Powered Industrial Truck license.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs production equipment, material handling equipment and facility mechanical systems.
Preforms and documents preventative maintenance activities such as cleaning, lubing, running diagnostic tests and inspecting worn parts.
Ensures plumbing, HVAC, dust collection, air, and other facility systems are kept in operating condition to meet the needs of the facility.
Works with machine operators, supervisors, and managers to resolve equipment and facility maintenance issues.
Engages with various functions as it relates to identifying requirements for new equipment, facility layout, dust, electrical and air; equipment set up and run off as needed.
Consults outside vendors to assist with performing repairs, quoting projects and/or sourcing equipment.
Communicates status of maintenance actions with appropriate operators and managers.
Assists with identifying opportunities for changes in procedures and/or processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensures proper guarding and safety devices are functioning and in use.
Assists with regulatory requirements involving safety and environmental matters.
Performs light groundskeeping work as needed.
Provides coverage as needed in other areas within or outside of the departments.
Will actively be involved in any continual process improvements of the department.
Assists in training new hires or new departmental transfers on proper use of machinery and equipment.
May work overtime, alternate shifts, and weekends as needed on short notice.
Performs other duties as assigned.
