About The Position

Summary/Objective The Facilities Technician position maintains and oversees the company grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. The duties include coordinating with the facilities team on contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, and coordinating renovations and updates. This is a part-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are flexible, generally during morning/afternoon. Some before and after hours work and being on-call is expected based on needs of the facility will be a requirement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • One year of administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Main point of contact for alarms and responds promptly to emergencies
  • Performs routine maintenance on facilities and makes repairs as needed.
  • Schedules preventative facility maintenance with vendors.
  • Oversees and supervises the quality of work by vendors and contractors.
  • Documents vendor appointments and maintenance performed
  • Meets weekly with the facilities team to ensure all projects remain on schedule.
  • Ensures cleanliness and safety of interior and exterior areas.
  • Ensures facilities are prepared for inclement weather.
  • Collaborates with the facilities team to ensure facilities’ needs are met timely.
  • Perform repairs according to work orders or verbal instructions while identifying and ordering parts/components needed to complete the task.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and onsite staff to ensure all repairs are completed successfully.
  • Performs basic plumbing/electrical repairs including but not limited to: changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts, and installing outlets/fixtures.
  • Perform carpentry and minor construction projects including but not limited to: installing and/or repairing drywall, carpet tiles, cabinetry, countertops, shelves, and paint.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment including but not limited to: debris/trash removal, heavy lifting/moving of materials and furniture, floor sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
