About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: To repair and maintain hotel equipment and building systems to provide a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees. To answer guest complaints and communicate with guests and associates.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
Must be able to work as an independent mechanic
Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions.
Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
Must be punched in, in uniform and ready for work as scheduled.
Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
Must be flexible with a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

Previous engineering experience preferred.
Prior experience working in, industrial, apartment, hotel, property maintenance, or as a technician, mechanic, or experience in repairs or welding is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Repairs furniture and structures (cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and wallpaper).
Paints and finishes furniture and structures.
Checks and makes minor repairs on electrical systems such as HVAC, refrigeration controls, vacuum cleaners, hairdryers, lightning systems, television sets and phones.
Checks and makes minor repairs on plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, valves, toilets, showers, sinks and cutting of keys as well as major repair of locks.
Performs preventive maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and personal hygiene.
Full knowledge and participation in the hotel’s Fire, Safety, Security, and Environmental plan and/or committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
