About The Position

Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income individuals and families to become self-reliant through integrated services in housing, employment, and education. We’re looking for skilled, dependable Maintenance Technicians to join our Property Management Team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll help ensure our residential properties are safe, well‑maintained, and welcoming for residents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical or vocational training preferred)
  • At least 1 year of property or building maintenance experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and good driving record
  • Basic hand tools (hammer, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with diverse populations

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler License (preferred, not required)
  • 3–7 years of residential building maintenance experience
  • Proven technical skill and ability to work independently
  • Ability to lead or direct maintenance staff in the absence of the Regional Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests and complete work orders efficiently
  • Perform preventative maintenance to protect property quality and long‑term performance
  • Prepare residential units for new move‑ins (“make‑ready” work)
  • Conduct inspections and identify necessary repairs
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to address emergency maintenance needs
  • Maintain accurate timesheets, work orders, and maintenance logs
  • Represent PPL professionally and build positive, respectful relationships with residents
