About The Position

The incumbent performs functions to maintain electrical components and mechanical maintenance of building and equipment to ensure efficient operation of production utilizing skills and experience to perform required electrical maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. This position works a staggered 12 hour shift, 8pm-8am.

Requirements

  • Ability to work any shift and overtime
  • Ability to lift and carry 70 pounds
  • Ability to read calipers and/or micrometers
  • Ability to troubleshoot and read blue prints
  • Ability to read all meters of electrical and electronic equipment
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to operate various powered industrial material handling equipment
  • Ability to complete a variety of paperwork
  • Ability to read an oscilloscope
  • Must be able to input required information into the computer.
  • High School Diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer 3 to 5 years electrician, an electronics technician, industrial maintenance or computer repair technician experience and /or an associate’s degree or equivalent in an applied science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Wears appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures.
  • Performs repairs to all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment within the facility with little or no guidance and support. Including fabricating components from various ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Diagnose system(s) issues to quickly and effectively find faults, errors, missing data, intermittent or shorted circuits and prompt repair of same. Uses the appropriate techniques to ensure safety of self and others.
  • Prioritizes work to meet the needs of the customers and share holders of the plant. Works with the plant leadership to ensure priorities and commitments are consistent with and meets the needs of the Johnson County Operation.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, building service requests and tours. Able to identify components or elements that are not meeting the design intent and remove and restore the system to full capability. May mean polishing, grinding, welding, or re-fitting parts to a process.
  • Generates detailed reports on building power failures and electrical equipment or system failures. Updates these reports to capture relevant data to the plant and process operation.
  • Recommends procedural changes, equipment modifications, etc., that will improve operational reliability of the electrical and mechanical systems. Can effectively and efficiently rank and prioritize the changes to ensure the plant goals are met. Thinks tactical response to mitigating production risks.
  • Responsible for operating maintenance equipment such as a lathe, mill, drill press and surface grinder as necessary for fabrication and repair.
  • Responsible for completing required production forms and reports.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in assigned work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
