At the Ideal Tridon Group, connections aren't just what we make-they're the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Auburn Hills, MI Plant. SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for the Foster Manufacturing production operations. This position requires locating the source of problems and observing mechanical devices, removing defective parts and dismantling equipment, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, performing routine preventive maintenance, fabricating repair parts, maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventory, and providing mechanical maintenance information and reports. This position will also be responsible for completing production orders for ball lock products as directed by the Operations Manager. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn the production process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience in metal machining, must be able to use lathes and milling machinery.
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, ring and plug gauges.
  • Be highly organized and have a high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work safely and independently without direct supervision.
  • Must be able to use powered pallet jacks, forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Must be able to lift 40-50lbs regularly and 70lbs occasionally and be standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 20 feet. Use of ladder is required.
  • Must be able to wear proper PPE as required, including gloves, aprons, safety glasses and face shields

Responsibilities

  • Performs production machine setups and drilling machine setups.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machinery as needed or as directed by the Operations Team Lead.
  • Performs building maintenance including painting, plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs, inspection of exit lighting, inspection of fire extinguishers, air compressor servicing and other maintenance as required.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized workspace.
  • Performs other maintenance duties as needed.
