About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Technician in the Central Virginia area (Lynchburg, Madison Heights, Amherst, etc) to perform general property maintenance and repairs across our company facilities. This position requires a versatile professional who can work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience in property maintenance or related field
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Clean criminal background (required due to nature of work)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and standing for extended periods
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary

Nice To Haves

• Trade certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs
• Familiarity with facility management software

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs including basic plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized service work
• Schedule, oversee, and follow up on third-party contract work to ensure completion
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and service requests
• Communicate effectively with staff regarding maintenance schedules and facility updates
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes
