WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN As a Maintenance Technician at Oakbrook Corporation, your days will include hands-on work in DeForest and Waunakee. You'll conduct routine and preventive maintenance, HVAC inspections, plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, general upkeep, and more to ensure our communities operate smoothly and safely. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must provide necessary personal hand tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in residential property maintenance or related field preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, carpentry, painting, vendors, parts, and services
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or trade school certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage repair and replacement processes for HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and pool control systems.
  • Maintain work orders, oversee unit turnovers, and coordinate contractor estimates and approved work.
  • Perform routine property care including grounds, common areas, trash/recycling, safety checks, and scheduled inspections.
  • Assist with operating budgets for turnovers, R&M, and capital expenditures.
  • Immediately report accidents, emergencies, or safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Support additional properties in the area as needed.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation schedule.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the Oakbrook Values.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
