About The Position

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Maintenance Technician at our York, PA location. The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains CNC machines, Presses, Saws, Tool & Die equipment, and ancillary machinery. The Maintenance Technician also assists in maintaining the facility's infrastructure and systems. This position must have excellent diagnostic ability and repair skills in a variety of fields, such as, but not limited to, mechanical, welding hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis are critical functions of this position. This is a 2nd shift position working 3pm to 11pm.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience should include electrical competency, hydraulic and pneumatic circuit components, bearing, gear reducers, equipment alignment, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of and adhere to industrial safety regulations, protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal downtime and assist in achieving production targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and communicate quality-related information effectively
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing production demands
  • Proven ability to work in a low supervisory environment while successfully meeting goals.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to read maintenance blueprints, hydraulic schematics, ladder diagrams and bill of materials
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Regular attendance required

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls from all departments involving breakdowns to diagnose and repair equipment as required, prioritizes repairs with input and direction from leadership.
  • Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tool and dies.
  • Responsible for saw blade changes.
  • Knowledge of and adhere to industrial safety regulations, protocols, and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work with production team to correct tooling issues.
  • Study Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models, blueprints, sketches, or specifications to plan the repair and/or fabrication of tools, dies, and components.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, uses measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Conduct test runs with completed repairs to ensure that parts meet specifications; makes adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty hydraulic or pneumatic components; mechanical components, including but not limited to bearings, couplings; combustion components; and electronic components, including but not limited to, power supplies, processors, printed circuit boards, etc.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on plant equipment including, but not limited to, saws, brakes, punch presses, and auxiliary equipment, etc.
  • Make and modify necessary fixtures and guides for dies, ensuring work does not interfere with safe operation of equipment.
  • Prepare and set up dies as needed.
  • Conduct daily inspection of the operation of air compressors, compressed air systems, this includes the maintenance of oil levels, air filters, dryer operation, etc.
  • Perform daily inspection of press operation including maintenance of the oil levels, oil leaks, etc.
  • Install and/or modify equipment in cooperation with the Engineering Services Manager to improve reliability, simplify operation, and improve operational safety, etc.
  • Complete all paperwork on a timely basis, including daily work sheets and assigning work to appropriate jobs or equipment in ¼ hour increments.
  • Follow company rules, regulations and policies regarding work and safety practices.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area including general housekeeping of the work area upon completion of a repair. Assist with general housekeeping of the production area.
  • Maintain and repair forklifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
