The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance and renovation of the University's properties and facilities to include leased and/or rented area's owned and/or occupied by the University. The schedule will be M-F 11AM to 8PM. Essential Functions Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment such as pumps, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, emergency lighting, motors and machinery. Installs, repairs and replaces mechanical, kitchen and electrical equipment including pumps, boilers, HVAC equipment, light ballast’s, motors, plumbing, door hardware, etc. as required. Repairs and renovations to include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall installation, doorframes, hardware, furniture on such items as chairs, lock sets, shelving, stair treads, desks etc. as required. Applies primer, paint, varnish, stains, lacquer, etc. to the interior and exterior surfaces of the University property. Installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas, drainage and other systems of the University. Lifts and moves equipment, materials, supplies and furniture such as desks and file cabinets within the same location or from one campus location to another, as required. Performs outside campus work assignments such as trash removal, snow removal, etc., as required. Assigned special projects, as needed such as trash removal, cleaning and landscaping. Other related duties as assigned.
