About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance of all power plant equipment utilizing safe job plans, written procedures, vendor manuals, and good engineering practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of power or industrial plant mechanical maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of and experience in several of the following skills: pipefitting, welding, machining, rigging, rotating machine repair, fabrication, machine alignment, basic vibration analysis, and using electrical/power equipment.
  • Knowledge of power plant mechanical and electrical equipment as well as safety policies and procedures, especially in the areas of high-energy systems, chemical handling, heavy equipment, rotating machinery, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, and first aid/CPR.
  • Knowledge of heat recovery steam generators and related equipment, piping systems (valves, actuators, flanges, hangers, etc.), and lube oil, analysis, filtration & hydraulic oil systems
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to locate, trouble-shoot, and adjust defects in mechanical equipment.
  • Should also possess knowledge and skills in basic mathematics; welding, cutting, and heating, mechanical safety, mechanical measuring and test equipment, mechanical prints and diagrams, fundamentals of layout, drilling, and tapping, basics of hoisting and rigging and the fundamentals of scaffolding.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Shall be a leader in safety, upholding safety as a core value

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with gas turbine combined cycle maintenance preferred.

  • Applying good engineering practices
  • Maintenance, repair, and installation of rotating equipment (pumps, mechanical seals, turbines, fans, bearings, gaskets, couplings, alignment, etc.)
  • Support local start-up of all major equipment (turbines, compressors, pumps, motors, etc.)
  • Operate plant equipment in a safe manner in accordance with EHS procedures (trucks, cranes, forklift).
