Requirements

  • 3 years general building maintenance experience or equivalent training
  • Computer proficient (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Physically able to perform maintenance work in most weather conditions.
  • Personal independence, drive and self-initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to implement staffing resources effectively
  • Ability to quantify and produce expected results and be responsible for the results of the work
  • Aesthetically oriented with an eye for detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong and effective leadership skills
  • Work well under pressure with excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and custodial practices and strategies

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Washington State and City of Seattle Landlord-Tenant laws helpful

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of building, including but not limited to: minor plumbing repair, general carpentry, painting, drywall, minor appliance repair and cleaning.
  • Perform unit turns including but not limited to: servicing appliances, plumbing and electrical, replace old or faulty parts, re-key locks, replace burnt out light bulbs and interior painting.
  • Address and follow up as necessary on all residents’ work order requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors and suppliers and work with them to produce the best product and pricing for the properties.
  • Maintain professionalism and communicate effectively with all key stakeholders including, but not limited to, residents, tenants, the Property manager, Portfolio manager, office staff, and vendors.
  • Complete all work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours requests

Benefits

  • Wage: $28 - $32 per hour, DOE. Eligible for bonuses
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm (must be available for afterhours calls)
