About The Position

The primary role of a Maintenance Technician involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting building systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation. This includes performing routine inspections, preventive tasks, and emergency fixes for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues. The technician is also responsible for documenting all work to prevent downtime and uphold operational standards. In this position, you will need to use hand/power tools, diagnose faults, replace parts, and may specialize in areas like production machinery or facilities upkeep, including tunnels, vacuum lots, and other requirements as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with hand/power tools, diagnostics, and repair of various systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
  • Strong ability to identify issues and find effective solutions.
  • Crucial for thorough inspections and accurate repairs.
  • Capable of physical tasks required for maintenance work.
  • Effectively collaborating with teams and documenting work.
  • Often requires a high school diploma/GED, with relevant certifications or degrees beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems; repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Conducting routine checks, servicing equipment, and performing scheduled upkeep to prevent breakdowns.
  • Monitoring and maintaining HVAC, electrical, and other building systems.
  • Regularly inspecting equipment and facilities to ensure safety and code compliance.
  • Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Promptly responding to urgent maintenance requests.
  • Managing spare parts and tools.
