The Maintenance Technician is a skilled intermediate-level role in healthcare, responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, installations, and emergency repairs across hospital infrastructure. This position will ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of hospital systems, supporting a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The position requires an enthusiastic and diligent caregiver to fulfill the duties of this role. This intermediate-level position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop skills in a hands-on role supporting the facility’s maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
  • Must be enrolled in an INTEGRIS Health-approved apprentice program within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or similar complex environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure to prevent system failures.
  • Diagnosing and repairing issues related to infrastructure and utilities, conducting emergency repairs, and installing new devices in compliance with safety standards and policies.
  • Monitors utility systems such as compressed air and emergency power, performs general upkeep tasks like painting and cleaning, and ensures all activities meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Accurate record keeping of maintenance activities, costs, and inventory is expected.
  • Coordinating with hospital staff, vendors, and facilities leadership to minimize disruptions, while promoting safety by following OSHA, infection control, and building code requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and practical application of protocols such as lock-out/tag-out, hot work, and confined space procedures.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics, repairs, and installations is essential, along with a clear understanding of healthcare regulatory standards, including Life Safety, Environment of Care, State Fire Marshal codes, and IRS asset management principles.
  • Attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
