About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is a field-based role responsible for maintaining the operational integrity, safety, and appearance of multiple retail fuel and convenience store locations within an assigned district. This position requires daily travel between sites and focuses on preventive maintenance, fuel equipment reliability, and timely completion of service requests. The technician performs both scheduled and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime, ensure compliance with brand and safety standards, and support store operations across a multi-site territory. This role is essential to keeping our stores running day in and day out. Store Managers often call Maintenance Techs “heaven sent” because they show up fast, solve problems, and keep operations moving so teams can focus on customers.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general facility maintenance.
  • Ability to perform general repairs and maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform painting and basic exterior upkeep in accordance with brand standards.
  • Experience with pressure washing and basic landscaping tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and responsibilities across a field-based role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with store teams and leadership.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field environment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.) and the ability to use online systems for documentation and work order tracking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ServiceChannel or similar work order/service management systems.
  • Experience with fuel equipment systems (hoses, nozzles, filters, breakaways, dispensers).
  • Experience in convenience store, retail, or fuel station environments.
  • Experience working in a multi-site maintenance or field service role.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs or scheduled inspection processes.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems or similar mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine site inspections to assess overall location condition, safety, and functionality.
  • Evaluate HVAC, fuel equipment, signage, paint/branding elements, and general site conditions.
  • Document findings and initiate corrective actions.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair fuel dispensing equipment (hoses, nozzles, breakaways, filters).
  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Complete service tickets and perform general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, and facility maintenance.
  • Escalate complex issues to vendors as needed.
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used, and resolution status.
  • Manage maintenance activities across assigned locations.
  • Prioritize work based on urgency, safety, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain site appearance including painting, pressure washing, and minor landscaping.
  • Ensure consistency with company and brand standards.
  • Communicate with store teams, District Managers, and leadership on site conditions and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, and recurring issues.
  • Follow all safety policies and perform work in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
