About The Position
Gaines Investment Trust is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our Apartments Team. Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience
- Hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, facilities, HVAC, or mechanical work
- EPA certification
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Ability to lift, carry, climb stairs, and work both indoors and outdoors
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to commute within 20–30 minutes of the property
Nice To Haves
- Prior multifamily maintenance experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Complete routine and corrective maintenance in apartment homes and common areas, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry
- Respond to service requests in a timely, professional, and resident-focused manner
- Assist with apartment turns, including painting, repairs, and general preparation for new move-ins
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Maintain the appearance of the community by assisting with grounds and common area upkeep
- Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance emergencies
- Communicate effectively with residents, office staff, and supervisors
