About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role supports the manufacturing of electric motors by minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and assisting with preventative maintenance programs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work around machinery and moving equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge of AC/DC motors, controls, and drives
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance systems
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or associate degree in maintenance, industrial technology, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Familiarity with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment, including but not limited to winding machines, presses, and test equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
  • Troubleshoot motor manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to coil winders, insulation systems, and balancing machines
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Maintain and repair facility systems (lighting, HVAC, compressors, etc.)
  • Assist in installation and setup of new equipment and machinery
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and spare parts inventory
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and plant safety standard
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify recurring issues and implement solutions
  • Other duties as assigned
