About The Position

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a visionary leader in building maintenance services, is eager to welcome an experienced Maintenance Technician to our team in Prince George's County, Maryland. As a vital member of our facilities staff, you will be empowered to perform maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision, demonstrating your exceptional skills in your area of expertise. This role offers the opportunity to operate and maintain a diverse range of mechanical and electrical systems, including those that provide heat, power, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and other essential environmental systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (shop courses preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building maintenance and repair (mechanical, plumbing, electrical).
  • Extensive knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Familiarity with building auxiliary systems (fire-life safety, standby emergency generators).
  • Strong plumbing skills to address leaks, clogs, and drainage issues.
  • Electrical wiring capabilities to troubleshoot and repair building electrical systems.
  • Carpentry skills for basic building repairs.
  • Experience with commercial kitchen equipment (refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with employees and tenants professionally.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and hazard prevention.
  • Physical stamina to perform active, demanding tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work on ladders or lift equipment over six feet, enter confined spaces, and lift 50+ lbs.
  • Proficiency with a wide variety of hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Flexibility to workday, night, or weekend hours as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

  • Pre-employment drug screen is required.
  • Fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain HVAC-related equipment, including heating systems, air handling units, motors, and pumps.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including filter changes, lubrication, repairs to HVAC equipment, motors, VFDs, plumbing, and light electrical systems.
  • Carry out minor carpentry tasks and repairs.
  • Utilize the work order system effectively: interpret, execute, and close work orders accurately.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical issues; replace ballasts, switches, and related components.
  • Repair restroom fixtures and clear drain obstructions.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical systems, record and report inspection results.
  • Maintain operating logs for all equipment, report faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to organizational standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of contractual obligations.
