Basic Job Functions: Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Diagnose problems, test and make adjustments, replace or repair parts and equipment such as industrial saws, overhead cranes, welders, paint and wash equipment, CNC mills, various hand, power and pneumatic tools, drill press, and loading docks. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Monitor, maintain and document all preventive maintenance of equipment. Perform emergency fixes and repairs as needed. Open minded and willing to learn from experienced Techs. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • One year industrial maintenance experience including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of machining, welding, and equipment fabrication skills.
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools, general fabrication tools, and various measuring devices including but not limited to tape measures, calipers and ohm meters.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, schematics and blueprints.
  • Must be self-driven with the ability to work with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and climb stairs and/or ladders occassionally.

Nice To Haves

  • AC/DC Drive experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc…)
  • Industrial Maintenance Experience
