Where You Will Work Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace, with locations in Manchester and Columbia, CT. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, tubing assemblies and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. Who You Are Working on 1st Shift in our Columbia, CT facility, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and general machinery.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience through either education or hands on experience.
  • Ability to use various measuring devices (torque wrench, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.)
  • Must be able to operate basic maintenance equipment.
  • A minimum of 3 years or more of experience with CNC equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written specifications, procedures and prints.
  • Must possess excellent mechanical aptitude and above average hand dexterity.
  • Must be able to operate lift truck and comfortable in moderate to heavy physical effort environment (lift up to 50lbs, bends, twists & turns, reach lower than knee, push and pull, squat and kneel)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and general machinery.
  • Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.
  • Must take immediate action to correct and/or any unsafe conditions and hazards.
  • Take an active role in caring for the equipment to prevent breakdowns and defects and help increase overall equipment efficiency through 5S, TPM (total productive maintenance).
  • Rebuilding and/or repairing machines or assembling original operating conditions.
  • Complete PM work and/or documentation of product equipment or processes.
  • Communicate, discuss and/or review repair problems with Engineering, Production Team Leads or vendors as needed.
  • Secondary duties include all aspects of general plant maintenance such as machine repair/rebuilding (electrical & mechanical), building maintenance (interior & exterior), plumbing repair & installation (hydraulic / pneumatic), forklift service & repair, and performing preventative maintenance procedures on all plant equipment.
