About The Position

Ensure overall Sterling facility equipment, production lines and tools are properly maintained, repaired or replaced as per HPS quality systems and applicable codes, standards and regulations to allow for maximum potential plant efficiency and ship-on-time while providing safe and clean working conditions for all employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance roles
  • 5 + years in a electrical maintenance position in a manufacturing/plant environment
  • Lock-out/Tag-out, PLC’s
  • Forklift and Hoist Training & Certificates
  • Interpersonal skills training including HPR (High Performance Relationships)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Preventative Maintenance Software
  • Familiarity with office equipment- computers, photocopiers, printers
  • Soldering, forklift, hoists, various maintenance electrical equipment
  • Knowledge in use of calculators, rulers, tape measures, scales

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a certification or some college in maintenance or similar field

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance
  • Develop detailed equipment preventive and schedule maintenance lists and schedules for all plant equipment
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on plant equipment as per maintenance schedule
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment as per maintenance schedule
  • Maintain maintenance department tools, equipment and supplies in order to meet all the maintenance supply needs
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Process Specialists in the maintenance, review and upgrade of all production hand tools as required
  • Coordinate and/or perform equipment and tool calibrations as required or recommended
  • Equipment Repair and/or Replacement
  • Perform all required electrical or mechanical equipment repairs as determined by preventative, routine or scheduled maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in production equipment and facility infrastructure
  • Using information acquired from all maintenance performed, submit MRO requests for any and all parts or services required
  • If equipment replacement is deemed necessary, submit detailed reports of equipment issue, reasons and requirements to key leaders for review
  • Replace upon approval any broken, unfit, unrepairable manufacturing equipment in a timely fashion within approved budgets and timelines
  • Provide assistance to Training Coordinator, Manufacturing Process Specialists and production staff on the use of any newly installed manufacturing electrical equipment
  • Plant/Grounds Maintenance
  • Perform general or major repairs to building installations, including all electrical as well as heating/AC, plumbing etc
  • Continuous Improvement/Cost Reduction Projects
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and outside suppliers to research, make recommendations and upon company approval, assist in implementation of various continuous improvement and/or cost reduction projects with regards to plant facilities (eg. Preventative/Predictive Maintenance, Utilities, Maintenance inventory, critical suppliers for machine/equipment components, Health and Safety, etc.)
  • Assist with major installations, set-up, and repair of machines or electrical equipment including transformers, distribution panels and other electrical equipment or devices
  • Assist manufacturing process specialists and QA test department in the maintenance, calibration and upgrade of any and all production test equipment
  • Documentation and Reporting
  • Work with corporate manufacturing engineering to draft and issue equipment PSR’s
  • Complete requisitions for parts or supplies required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Review and maintain monthly company maintenance budget
  • Create drawings for filing storage.
  • Understand and apply design guidelines in SPI and other engineering documents, ensuring minimal cost.
  • Implement changes through the HCN process in a timely manner, when applicable.
  • Review and approve test reports, as required.
  • Request special tests to meet customer’s additional specifications, if required.
  • Review field issues for resolution, as needed.
