About The Position

As a Maintenance Technician (Night shift) at IPL Shelbyville, KY: The successful candidate will: Performs preventative maintenance. Will respond to daily priorities within the maintenance department. Identifies potential equipment problems and corrects them. Maintains the equipment in a manner so as not to impede the production process. Prepares plant equipment and facilities for production. Responds to equipment failures or facilities problems in a timely and professional manner. Informs manager or lead when critical replacement parts are used from inventory. Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective action. Identifies equipment problems in a timely and accurate manner. Implement contingency plans for keeping production running. Maintains work areas to keep them free of trip hazards and other safety issues. Ensures tools and auxiliary equipment are returned to their proper place after a job or project is completed or after a mold change is complete. Clean the machinery as necessary. Comply with safety standards. Lock out/tag out procedures are always followed. OSHA safety standards are always complied with. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Maintenance Technician or related desired. (Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirements.)
  • 5+ years of experience in Injection Mold design and processing, preferably in the plastics industry.
  • Ability to work with a variety of outside contractors.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Safety and Quality Standards.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Forklift operations.
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • General computer skills
  • Crane operations.
  • General maintenance skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that is aggressive and fast paced.
  • Must respond to frequently changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Maintenance Technician in the plastics industry preferred.
  • Injection Mold is a plus.
