About The Position

The Maintenance Technician at Pope Douglas Solid Waste Management is responsible for maintaining and repairing various equipment within the facility, including heavy industrial mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves implementing preventive and corrective maintenance programs for waste-to-energy systems, material recovery facilities, and associated equipment. The technician will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Safety Planner, ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the facility's equipment and infrastructure.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience in the maintenance of heavy industrial mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ability to understand and comprehend technical documents and manuals.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of or the capability of obtaining a valid Minnesota 1st Class A boiler license.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance tasks on boilers, incinerators, pumps, and ancillary equipment.
• Implement directives issued by the Maintenance Manager on maintenance and repair activities.
• Recommend procedures and schedules for maintenance activities to the Maintenance Manager.
• Troubleshoot and repair all waste-to-energy equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair control, power circuits, and instrumentation.
• Perform welding repairs as needed.
• Maintain and repair the facilities, buildings, and equipment.
• Assist in inventory control of spare parts.
• Maintain records and produce reports on machinery history, equipment status, and building conditions.
• Perform other related work as assigned.
