Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in injection molding troubleshooting or processing.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC, and general machine maintenance.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with ENGEL injection molding machines and robots is required.
  • Understanding of injection molding processes and materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, and Styrene.
  • Ability to diagnose control system issues and develop solutions.
  • Basic programming knowledge for microprocessor-controlled systems.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
  • Able to do basic mathematics.
  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Able to understand and carry out verbal instructions.
  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair injection molding machines and robots, including electrical (up to 480V, 3-phase), mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and software components.
  • Perform software and hardware installations, calibrations, and testing to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Execute temporary repairs as necessary to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks on all related equipment.
  • Train and educate production staff on proper machine operation and safety protocols.
  • Install and replace parts as needed; source and order parts based on diagnostic evaluations.
  • Document repair procedures and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
  • Assist and instruct other technicians and operators on safe equipment maintenance and troubleshooting practices.
