About the position

As a Maintenance Technician at Contech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation of our manufacturing equipment. Your responsibilities include providing technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and install all plant equipment. You will be accountable for the Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM) process, educating, directing, and supporting employees in reference to TPM and equipment repair compliance, and managing the maintenance budget. Additionally, you will identify cost-effective solutions for replacing obsolete components, adjust, repair or replace parts, assemblies, and machine equipment, read and interpret blueprints for repair and installation of equipment, and perform welding, burning, brazing, and soldering as required to maintain plant equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and install all plant equipment.
  • Accountable for Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM) process.
  • Educates, directs, and supports employees in reference to TPM and equipment repair compliance and is responsible for maintenance budget.
  • Identifying cost-effective solutions for replacing obsolete components.
  • Adjusts repairs or replaces parts, assemblies, and machine equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints for repair and installation of equipment.
  • Performs welding, burning, brazing, and soldering as required to maintain plant equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience. Prior maintenance experience preferred.
  • 2-year associates degree or equivalent certifications in a related field preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • A hands-on approach to job tasks, including seeking additional information when necessary
  • Independent thinker with the ability to execute job tasks with limited supervision. Motivated to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of mechanical/electrical problems and fixes.
  • Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electrical preferred
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Good root cause problem solving skills.
  • Electrical experience strongly preferred
  • Honesty and integrity - ability to stay calm under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2-year associates degree or equivalent certifications in a related field preferred
  • Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electrical preferred
  • PLC experience preferred
  • Electrical experience strongly preferred
