Join Our Team as a Skilled Maintenance Technician at Finneytown Local School District. This is a full-time, year-round position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. As a dedicated Maintenance Professional, you will help maintain the physical plant across the district with a strong emphasis on preventive maintenance (PM) and best practices in the field. Your work will ensure our learning environments remain safe, comfortable, and fully functional for students and staff alike. If you have a knack for fixing things and a background in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems, we want to hear from you!

  • Performing skilled maintenance tasks with a focus on preventive care and system efficiency
  • Ensuring all work aligns with design specs, building codes, and safety regulations
  • Responding to repair needs across the district's facilities
  • Operating grounds maintenance equipment, such as snowplows, mowers, tractors, and lifts
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and secure learning environment for students and staff
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license and insurability under the District's insurance policy
  • Ability to pass a drug screening/physical in order to obtain a Commercial Driver's License
  • General knowledge of all Federal, State, and local safety and code requirements, District and department rules and procedures, and Board of Education policies
  • Capability of exercising sound judgment to preserve the safety and well-being of others
  • Experience in the operation of equipment used in grounds maintenance, including, but not limited to: snowplows, mowers, power-driven equipment, tractor, dump truck, etc.
  • Ability to understand chemical hazards and adhere to safety practices
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize maintenance needs and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a high level of ethical behavior
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all administrators, teachers, co-workers, families, and students
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions, warnings, and labels
  • Satisfactory BCI and FBI Criminal Background checks
