About The Position
This position is for a residential property Maintenance Technician in the Detroit area, responsible for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of various properties. The Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance requests in a timely manner, ensuring that all unit preparations are completed accurately and efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, demonstrating initiative and skilled problem-solving abilities. The technician will also be tasked with maximizing opportunities to reduce utility consumption, maintaining accurate logs, and submitting them as required. The Maintenance Technician will inspect buildings, equipment, and appliances for functionality, diagnosing any faults and facilitating prompt repairs to ensure that all systems are running smoothly. Safety is a priority, and the technician must ensure that properties are safe for occupants and visitors, which includes maintaining all outside lighting and clearing debris. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for diagnosing problems with appliances and carrying out repairs on minor issues such as light fixtures, clogged toilets, leakages, and peeling walls or furniture. Effective communication is essential in this role, as the technician will maintain open lines of communication with property owners and liaise with consultants and property managers regarding operations, renovations, and necessary authorizations. The technician will also clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms, ensuring they are ready for new occupants to move in. This position offers a full-time schedule with the potential for overtime and on-call duties, making it a dynamic and engaging role within the property management sector.
