Primary Work Location: Fairmont Respite is a tiny home community located near Fairmont Hospital. Cardea Health provides clinical services at Fairmont Respite, a 34 bed tiny home community that services individuals with clinical needs and provides housing navigation services. Cardea Health partners with Alameda County for the Homeless agency and the housing agency Five Keys to provided tailored services to unhoused individuals working to transition to permanent housing. Job Summary: The Fairmont Maintenance Technician will complete routine maintenance and minor repairs needed at the Supportive Housing program sites. Under the direction of Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician (Worker) will follow the prescribed building maintenance schedule to ensure optimal functioning of the hotel site. In addition, the Maintenance Technician (Worker) will respond to facilities issues to assess issues that arise. The Maintenance Technician (Worker) will repair issues within their scope and recommend next an approach for larger repairs.

  • Proven experience as a skilled maintenance person

Responsibilities

  • Keep all rooms, common facilities, and other areas functional and in good repair
  • Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
  • Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Install appliances and equipment
  • Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)
  • Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
  • Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
  • May be required to work occasional weekends or after-hours.
