The Utilities Technician provides primary support for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of utilities equipment, including chillers, cooling systems, cooling towers, boilers, steam systems, RO/soft water equipment, HVAC, electrical substations, and low- and high-pressure compressed air systems. This role supports an aseptic manufacturing environment and ensures utilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain utilities equipment.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the reliability and performance of utility systems.
- Perform work order repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment rebuilds, replacements, and adjustments, including complete documentation.
- Manage and coordinate work performed by contractors.
- Fabricate, modify, and innovate new or existing equipment to improve performance and reliability.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure good housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with team members to plan, analyze, and improve process quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in English: Comfortable with both written and verbal communication, including reading and writing.
Nice To Haves
- Post‑secondary education or technical trade certification.
- EPA 608 Type II or Type III Refrigerant Handling Certification.
- Boiler Operator certification.
- Industrial Refrigeration (Ammonia) certification.
- Experience with precision maintenance tools and techniques (lubrication, alignments, vibration, ultrasound, etc.).
