We are hiring for a full-time Maintenance Skilled Technician. The hours are Monday - Friday on first shift. This position supports the delivery of high-quality service to residents and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two year’s experience in building maintenance, facilities, property services, or a similar trade preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment, including in mechanical rooms and service spaces.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), resident relations, organizational skills, customer service orientation, and leadership ability.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; strong analytical and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills; the ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and as a collaborative and supportive member of a team.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Warm and personable image, demonstrating the ability to connect effectively with the senior population across diverse functional abilities.

  • Physical Requirements include prolonged periods of standing, walking long distances, ability to lift 70 pounds at times, regular use of ladders, tools, and equipment, balance, climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop, repetitive movements, adequate dexterity in hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
  • Individuals will be exposed to inside and outside conditions including living spaces, rooftops, attics, mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, electrical rooms, shop areas, and general service corridors.
  • May be exposed to chemicals, Bloodborne Pathogens, or other hazardous materials; however, proper training and protective devices will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and skilled maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues throughout resident areas, mechanical rooms, and service spaces.
  • Completes preventive maintenance on equipment, building systems, and infrastructure located in operational areas.
  • Responds promptly to work orders and urgent service calls campus-wide.
  • Assists with maintaining safety, cleanliness, and functionality across all resident buildings and operational areas.
  • Conducts routine inspections of apartments, cottages, common areas, mechanical rooms, and service areas to identify needs or safety concerns.
  • Supports seasonal and event-related tasks such as storm preparation, grounds support, and emergency responses.
  • Follows OSHA standards, Life Safety Code requirements, infection‑control practices, and facility safety policies in all work areas, including mechanical rooms, equipment rooms, and service areas.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and service logs.
  • Reports unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or environmental hazards found in resident spaces or service areas.
  • Provides courteous, professional service to residents and staff when responding to maintenance needs.
  • Works collaboratively with the Lead Maintenance Technician, Grounds, and Housekeeping teams to support campus operations.
  • Ensures work is completed with minimal disruption to daily resident life.
  • Assists with setup, cleanup, and preparation for outdoor events or special events.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respect for residents and employee privacy.
  • Completes all assigned training by the deadline.
  • Creates an environment of pride and quality among all employees, encouraging them to achieve their highest potential.
