Nominated a Top Workplace ten years in a row! Hornig Companies seeks a full-time Multi-site Maintenance Technician to respond to work orders at our newly acquired, 120-unit community in Arden Hills.
Requirements
- Mechanical & plumbing aptitude
- Specials Boiler’s License/ ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Valid Driver’s License and meet car insurance requirements
- Ability to work rotating on-call schedule
- Ability to stand, lift and bend for up to 8 hours (with breaks) in hot/cold and wet environments
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to operate applicable phone applications for work orders, time allocation and information look-up
Nice To Haves
- Multi-housing experience is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, trouble-shoot and hands on repair of apartment maintenance issues like:
- Plumbing issues such as leaking faucets, toilets and other fixtures
- Repair or replace blinds, closet doors
- Low risk electrical repair or replacement of lighting, ceiling fans, smoke detectors
- Minor sheetrock repair and repair of building construction such as broken windows and locks
- Minor caulking of tubs and sinks
- Minor appliance repair
- Provide expertise on building repair, concentrating on preventing future maintenance concerns in historical and aging buildings
- Communicate with residents regarding repairs in a caring, compassionate manner that upholds Hornig Companies customer service reputation as well as Fair Housing guidelines
