About The Position

The Maintenance Technician - Rotating Equipment maintains all rotating equipment across the site, including pumps, agitators, compressors, conveyor belts, motors, and specialty equipment. Overtime may be required during major equipment issues or turnarounds but is not regularly expected. After gaining site familiarity, the technician will be assigned to an on-call rotation. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years industrial/construction/maintenance experience; 2 years as Journeyman preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with: reverse alignment, laser alignment, dial indicators, metals and bearings, mechanical seals, tandem seals, compression packing, multi-stage and vertical pumps, drive couplings, cooling tower fan units, gearboxes, agitators, centrifugal compressors, machine shop equipment, hydraulic reading, and IRD reading
  • Basic computer proficiency with Windows-based systems to access specification data sheets and drawings
  • Ability to read P&IDs and equipment drawings
  • Physical requirements: standing for up to 4 hours, climbing stairs and ladders regularly, lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent bending/stooping/crouching/twisting, working in confined spaces and PPE (acid suits, vapor suits, hot suits, respirators)
  • Strong team collaboration skills with ability to build rapport and trust
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and leading when appropriate
  • Valid driver's license required

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER certification preferred
  • SAP PM module experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use SAP to review equipment history, print work orders, view bills of materials, and locate parts
  • Complete work order documentation including equipment history, time confirmation, variance codes, and job plan forms
  • Level and align pump bases, compressors, agitators, rotary valves, and centrifuges
  • Perform pump repair and maintenance, including impeller clearance setting and seal replacement
  • Align motors to gearboxes and measure precision fits
  • Conduct periodic preventative maintenance on all rotating equipment
  • Support maintenance work during weekends, after-hours, and turnarounds
  • Provide support to Bayport/KTN facilities and coordinate with contractors as needed
  • Actively participate in Kuraray safety programs
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
