About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in carrying out the maintenance processes of the property, focusing on, but not limited to cleaning and upkeep of the property grounds and common areas as well as preparation and cleanup of meeting/conference room areas. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that the employee’s assigned building's lighting and plumbing systems are maintained to manufacturer's specifications as well as the organization’s maintenance standards by performing the following duties listed below.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to develop basic addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: tablets, smart phones, and software associated with work order and maintenance programs.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hand tools; drills and saws; climb and work from ladders; routinely change lights and ballasts.
  • The employee is expected to be able to use a shop vacuum, drills and saws.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains assigned building’s lighting and plumbing systems, assuring that equipment is maintained in an energy efficient and safe manner.
  • Complies with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognizes danger and safety hazards and proposes methods to eliminate and maintains a working knowledge of common hand tools used for routine maintenance and repair of above mentioned systems.
  • Communicates findings in the performance of assigned work with supervisors and fellow employees and documents maintenance and repairs made to the above-mentioned systems.
  • Maintains working knowledge of lock out/tag out equipment.
  • Responds to tenant and client requests in a professional manner. Issues unable to be resolved are reported immediately to a supervisor.
  • Responds effectively and promptly to all emergencies.
